Grandmaster Bobby Taboada began training in Cebu, Philippines. From humble beginnings, he helped bring Balintawak Eskrima to the world, building a system known for its precision, efficiency, and real-world application.
He has trained thousands of students across the globe, from law enforcement to doctors to stunt actors. This is your opportunity to train with him directly.

Yes. Grandmaster Bobby often speaks about his experiences growing up in the Philippines. The event is held at the Rizal Center, which is the Filipino community center for the Chicagoland area. There will also be other FIlipino Martial Artists and instructors present. There may even be some delicious FIlipino food availible, too!

Best Western Plus Hawthorne Terrace Hotel, at 3434 N. Broadway is a 6 minute Uber or 20 minute CTA trip to the Rizal Center.
Hotel Versey Chicago Lincoln Park, at 644 W. Diversey Pkwy, is 10 minutes by Uber or a 13 minute CT trip.
The Ambassador Chicago, at 1301 N. State Pkwy, is a 13 minute Uber or a 28 minute CTA trip.
The Rizal Center has 20 parking spaces in its lot. There is also metered street parking. We highly recommend carpooling, rideshare or taking the CTA bus or train since there will be a Cubs baseball game that day down the street at historic Wrigley Field and parking and traffic could be a challenge.
